ペンシルバニア大学 物理及び天文学部 助教授。コロンビア大学物理学部修士課程を経て２００１年同大学博士課程を修了。カリフォルニア工科大学及び、スタンフォード大学にて、NASAのスポンサーするポスドク研究員として勤めた後、スタンフォード大学研究員を経て、２００６年より現職。主な研究内容は、大規模の光学調査、Ia型超新星の観測とその宇宙論での応用、ガンマ線バースト残光の現象学、活動的銀河中心核とX線連星の流出による構造学と幾何学。
